About Volcanoes Gorilla Lodge
An intimate stone-and-thatch lodge at the foot of the Virunga volcanoes, the gateway to Rwanda's mountain gorilla families.
Nestled among the cultivated foothills of the Virunga volcanoes, Volcanoes Gorilla Lodge provides the ideal base for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Six stone-and-thatch cottages are set within lush gardens with views of the volcanic peaks where approximately 340 mountain gorillas live.
The lodge arranges gorilla permits, provides packed lunches for treks, and offers post-trek spa treatments to soothe tired muscles after hours of bamboo forest hiking at altitude.
