Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from travel agents and travellers about our DMC services.
Working With Us
What is a DMC and why do I need one?
A Destination Management Company (DMC) is your local ground partner in Africa. We handle all logistics — vehicles, guides, accommodations, activities, and 24/7 support — so you can sell Africa confidently without managing operations yourself.
Which countries do you operate in?
We operate across 7 African countries: Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, Botswana, and Mozambique. We can also arrange connecting itineraries to neighbouring destinations.
How long have you been operating?
African DMC has been operating since 2010, with 15+ years of experience in African ground handling. We’re registered members of TATO, ATTA, and IATA.
Do you work with individual travellers or only agents?
While our core business is B2B (travel agent partnerships), we also accept direct enquiries from travellers and corporate groups.
Booking Process
How do I get started as a partner?

What is your typical response time for quotes?
We respond to quote requests within 4 business hours for standard itineraries. Complex multi-country or custom itineraries may take up to 24 hours.
Can you handle last-minute bookings?
Yes, our operations team is available 24/7 and can arrange last-minute safaris, transfers, and accommodations subject to availability.
Do you offer FAM trips?
Yes, we organize annual familiarization trips for our partner agents. These include complimentary accommodation and activities so you can experience our destinations first-hand.
On The Ground
What happens if something goes wrong during a trip?
Our 24/7 operations desk is your first call. We have contingency plans for every scenario — vehicle breakdowns, weather disruptions, medical emergencies, and itinerary changes. We handle it so you don’t have to.
What type of vehicles do you use?
We operate a fleet of 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers and safari-modified minivans, all with pop-up roofs for game viewing. All vehicles are regularly maintained and fitted with first aid kits, VHF radios, and charging ports.
Are your guides licensed and trained?
All our guides are nationally licensed, first-aid certified, and fluent in English. Many speak additional languages including French, German, and Swahili. We conduct annual refresher training.
