Okavango Delta fly-in with mokoro and walking safaris
The Botswana Grand Circle is the definitive safari experience in Southern Africa, linking every major ecosystem in this extraordinary country into one seamless 10-day journey. Starting from Maun, you fly into the heart of the Okavango Delta, where crystal-clear waters and palm-studded islands create a wildlife sanctuary of unparalleled beauty. Glide through papyrus channels by mokoro, walk with San Bushman trackers, and enjoy game drives in exclusive private concessions. From the delta, move overland to Moremi Game Reserve — the crown jewel of the Okavango system — where the intersection of wetland and dryland habitats supports a staggering diversity of species, including healthy populations of wild dog. Continue northward through the legendary Savuti Channel, known for its dramatic predator-prey dynamics and the famous Savuti elephant bulls that have adapted to life in this semi-arid landscape. Witness the ongoing battle between lion super-prides and buffalo herds on the vast Savuti Marsh. Your journey concludes in Chobe National Park, home to Africa's largest elephant population, where river cruises and game drives along the Chobe waterfront deliver some of the most spectacular wildlife encounters imaginable. Each night is spent in carefully selected luxury lodges and camps that reflect the character of each unique environment, ensuring comfort matches the calibre of the game viewing throughout this once-in-a-lifetime expedition.

Your Journey, Day by Day
10 carefully curated days across Okavango Delta, Moremi, Savuti, Chobe
Day 1
Arrival in Maun & Fly to the Okavango Delta
Arrive at Maun Airport and meet your safari coordinator for a briefing on the adventure ahead. Board a light aircraft for a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta — a breathtaking introduction to this vast wetland wilderness. Land at your private concession airstrip and transfer to your luxury tented camp, set on the edge of a lagoon. Settle in, then enjoy an afternoon mokoro excursion through the channels, watching for elephants and hippos as the delta glows in the late afternoon light.
Day 2
Okavango Delta — Water & Land Exploration
A full day exploring the Okavango Delta's dual environments. The morning begins with a guided walking safari along island trails with a San Bushman tracker who shares ancient knowledge of the ecosystem. After brunch, relax at camp or cool off in the pool. The afternoon game drive explores the dryland areas of the concession where lion, leopard, and wild dog are regularly encountered. Return as the sun sets for cocktails and a multi-course dinner.
Day 3
Fly to Moremi Game Reserve
After a final morning mokoro excursion, board a charter flight to Moremi Game Reserve. Your camp here sits on the edge of the Xakanaxa Lagoon, a wildlife magnet during the dry season. Settle in and enjoy lunch with views of elephants wading through the lagoon. The afternoon game drive enters the heart of Moremi where diverse habitats — mopane woodland, floodplain, and acacia savannah — support an incredible density of wildlife. Moremi is one of the best places in Africa to see African wild dogs, and your guides are experts at tracking these endangered predators.
Day 4
Full Day Moremi Game Reserve
Dedicate the entire day to Moremi's exceptional game viewing. The dawn game drive follows the floodplain edge where large predators are most active during the cool morning hours. Buffalo herds attract lions, and cheetahs hunt in the open grasslands. Visit Paradise Pools for hippo and crocodile sightings. After a bush lunch, the afternoon drive focuses on the woodland areas where leopard sightings are frequent. As darkness falls, a short night drive reveals nocturnal species such as aardvark, genet, and African wild cat.
Day 5
Overland Transfer to Savuti
Depart Moremi after breakfast and drive overland through wild, untouched bushveld to the legendary Savuti Channel in Chobe National Park. The drive itself is a game drive, with wildlife sightings along the route. Arrive at your lodge overlooking the Savuti Marsh in time for lunch. The Savuti area is famous for its dramatic predator-prey interactions, particularly the ongoing battle between lion super-prides and buffalo herds. An afternoon game drive introduces you to this raw, wild landscape.
Day 6
Full Day Savuti — Predator Country
Savuti is one of Africa's premier predator destinations. The early morning drive targets the marsh area where a resident lion super-pride of over 30 individuals often hunts buffalo at dawn. Continue to the ancient San rock paintings near the Savuti Hills, evidence of human presence here stretching back thousands of years. After lunch, explore the Savuti Channel — a mysterious waterway that has alternately flowed and dried up several times over the past century, puzzling scientists. Large bull elephants have adapted to this harsh environment and are a hallmark of the area.
Day 7
Savuti to Chobe Riverfront
After a final morning game drive in Savuti, transfer by road through the park to the Chobe riverfront near Kasane. The journey traverses varied terrain, from dry savannah to lush riverside woodland, and game sightings are common throughout. Arrive at your riverside lodge in the early afternoon, freshen up, and board a sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River. The river teems with wildlife: elephants swim between islands, hippo pods surface and snort, and crocodiles patrol the shallows.
Day 8
Chobe National Park — Riverfront Game Drives
A full day exploring the Chobe riverfront, which hosts the greatest concentration of elephants on the African continent. The morning game drive hugs the river's edge where breeding herds of elephants come down to drink, bathe, and play in the shallows. Giraffe, zebra, and waterbuck graze nearby, while large Nile crocodiles sun themselves on the banks. The afternoon brings another boat cruise, this time venturing further upriver to explore quiet backwaters where rare birds and shy antelopes — including the secretive puku — can be found.
Day 9
Chobe — Final Game Drive & Farewell Dinner
Your last full day in the bush. Make the most of it with an extended morning game drive that covers both the riverfront and the interior woodland. Target any remaining wish-list species with your expert guide. Return for a spa treatment or pool time. The afternoon features a private boat cruise designed to maximise your final wildlife encounters on the Chobe River. Back at the lodge, a special farewell dinner celebrates your incredible journey through Botswana's four great ecosystems — from the watery channels of the Okavango to the elephant-lined banks of the Chobe.
Day 10
Departure from Kasane
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, savoring the final views of the Chobe River. Transfer to Kasane Airport in time for your onward flight. Alternatively, extend your journey with a day trip to Victoria Falls (optional, additional cost). Depart Botswana with memories of four incredible ecosystems, spectacular wildlife encounters, and the warm hospitality of the Batswana people.
