Chobe riverfront game drives with massive elephant herds
This perfectly crafted 5-day safari brings together two of Southern Africa's most iconic destinations in a single, seamless itinerary. Begin in Kasane, the gateway to Chobe National Park, renowned for hosting the largest concentration of elephants in Africa — an estimated 120,000 individuals. Your Chobe experience includes both land-based game drives along the riverfront and sunset boat cruises on the Chobe River, where elephants swim between islands, hippos wallow in the shallows, and African fish eagles patrol the treetops. The park's diverse landscapes support an incredible array of wildlife: lion prides hunt along the floodplains, leopards stalk the riverine forests, and vast buffalo herds attract some of Africa's most dramatic predator-prey interactions. From Chobe, cross the border into Zimbabwe (or Zambia) to witness the mighty Victoria Falls — known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, 'The Smoke That Thunders.' Standing on the lip of the gorge as nearly two kilometres of water plunges over a hundred metres into the Batoka Gorge is an experience that defies description. Optional adventure activities range from white-water rafting to bungee jumping, helicopter flights to gorge swings. Whether you seek wildlife encounters or natural wonder, this safari delivers both in abundance, all at a mid-range price point that represents exceptional value for Southern Africa.

Your Journey, Day by Day
5 carefully curated days across Chobe National Park, Victoria Falls
Day 1
Arrival in Kasane & Chobe River Cruise
Arrive at Kasane Airport, situated on the confluence of four countries — Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Transfer to your riverside lodge overlooking the Chobe River. After a welcome lunch and orientation, board a comfortable cruise boat for a sunset voyage along the Chobe River. Watch herds of elephants come down to drink and bathe in the fading light, while hippos surface nearby and crocodiles bask on the sandbanks. Colourful bee-eaters, kingfishers, and African skimmers dart along the water's edge as the sun paints the sky in shades of amber and gold.
Day 2
Full Day Chobe National Park Game Drives
A full day immersed in Chobe National Park's spectacular wildlife. The pre-dawn game drive follows the Chobe riverfront, where large herds of elephants are often joined by buffalo, giraffe, and antelope. Lion prides frequently hunt along this corridor, and sightings of leopard in the riverine woodland are not uncommon. Return to the lodge for brunch and a midday rest. The afternoon game drive ventures deeper into the park's interior, exploring the Savuti Marsh channel and Kasane forest areas. Watch for rare sable antelope, roan antelope, and large pods of hippos in the remaining pools. As the sun drops, enjoy sundowners in a scenic spot chosen by your guide.
Day 3
Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Victoria Falls
Enjoy a final early morning game drive in Chobe, targeting any species still on your wish list. The morning light is superb for photography, and your guide will use all their expertise to deliver memorable last encounters. Return for breakfast, then transfer by road to the Kazungula border post. Cross into Zimbabwe and continue to the town of Victoria Falls. Check into your hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure — stroll the curio markets, visit a local cultural village, or simply relax by the pool in preparation for tomorrow's main event.
Day 4
Victoria Falls Guided Tour & Adventure Activities
Today is dedicated to the thundering Victoria Falls. After breakfast, a knowledgeable local guide leads you through the Victoria Falls Rainforest, following the paved pathway that traces the edge of the gorge. Feel the spray, hear the roar, and see the rainbows that arc across the chasm. Viewpoints along the trail each offer a different perspective on the falls — from the Devil's Cataract to the Main Falls and the Eastern Cataract. The afternoon is free for optional adventure activities: choose from a helicopter flight over the falls (the legendary 'Flight of Angels'), white-water rafting on the Zambezi, a gorge swing, zip-line, or a gentle sunset cruise on the Zambezi River upstream of the falls.
Day 5
Departure from Victoria Falls
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your hotel with views of the spray rising from the falls in the distance. Depending on your departure time, there may be opportunity for a final souvenir shopping session or a visit to the Victoria Falls Bridge — the historic railway bridge that spans the gorge between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Transfer to Victoria Falls Airport (or Kasane Airport if your flight departs from Botswana) in time for your onward journey. Depart with extraordinary memories of Chobe's elephants and the thundering Victoria Falls.
