Your Journey, Day by Day
5 carefully curated days across Arusha, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater & Tarangire
Day 1
Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
Depart Arusha after breakfast and drive west along the Great Rift Valley escarpment to Lake Manyara National Park. This compact gem is renowned for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and the alkaline lake that attracts thousands of flamingos. Enjoy an afternoon game drive through the park's groundwater forest, woodland, and open grasslands.
Day 2
Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After a morning game drive at Manyara, transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive climbs through highland forest to the crater rim, where the panoramic views are simply breathtaking. Settle into your lodge perched above the caldera and spend the afternoon absorbing the vista of the crater floor 600 meters below.
Day 3
Ngorongoro Crater Floor Game Drive
Descend into the crater at first light for a full-day game drive on the caldera floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to roughly 25,000 large mammals in just 260 square kilometers, making it one of the densest wildlife populations in Africa. Search for the critically endangered black rhino, watch lion prides on the hunt, and observe hippos wallowing in the Ngoitokitok springs.
Day 4
Ngorongoro to Tarangire National Park
Depart the crater highlands and drive south to Tarangire National Park, a landscape defined by towering baobab trees, termite mounds, and the life-giving Tarangire River. The park hosts some of the highest densities of elephants in Tanzania — herds of 200 or more are not uncommon during the dry season. Enjoy afternoon and evening game drives as the golden light sets the savanna ablaze.
Day 5
Tarangire & Departure to Arusha
Begin the day with an early morning game drive in Tarangire, when predators are most active and the light is perfect for photography. After a leisurely brunch at the lodge, depart for Arusha, arriving in time for afternoon flights or an optional city tour. Your guide will ensure a smooth transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport or your Arusha hotel.
